The Birds, The Bees & The Monkees

classic rockpop

The Monkees' third album of 1968, released just months after 'The Monkees Present', found the band continuing their experimental phase with a collection of country-tinged, psychedelic, and baroque pop tunes. It charted higher than any of their previous albums released that year, reaching number 3 on the Billboard 200.

The Monkees were a made-for-TV pop-rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1966. Their early success relied heavily on songwriters and producers, but by 1968, the band members were asserting more creative control over their music.
