The Spencer Davis Group were a British rock and soul band formed in Birmingham in 1963. Led by their namesake on guitar and vocals, the band featured a young Steve Winwood on keyboards and vocals. The group is best known for their string of hit singles in the mid-1960s. In August 1966, The Spencer Davis Group released the double A-side single "Somebody Help Me / Stevie's Blues". This single came after the success of "Gimme Some Lovin'" and preceded the release of their album *Autumn Stone*.
